Trinity Anglican College recently welcomed Ms Margery Evans, Chief Executive of Independent Schools NSW (ISNSW), and members of her team for a visit highlighting the important contribution of independent schools within regional communities.
Discussions throughout the visit reinforced the significant role independent schools play in providing educational choice and supporting the diverse needs, values and aspirations of families. The visit also highlighted the broader impact of the independent sector in regional areas, where schools contribute to community engagement, employment and local economic activity.
Conversations focused on the ways independent schools create learning environments in which students are known, challenged and supported to achieve their potential, while strengthening connections within the communities they serve.
As part of the visit, the College also welcomed Miriam Scott, an AI Consultant from ISNSW, who worked alongside staff to further develop the College’s strategic approach to artificial intelligence in teaching and learning.
Over a two-day consultancy program, leadership teams, heads of department and ICT staff participated in professional learning focused on building capability, exploring emerging policy considerations and developing responsible approaches to AI integration.
A highlight of the program was the Student AI Circle of Inquiry, during which Year 12 student leaders shared thoughtful perspectives on the opportunities and challenges presented by artificial intelligence. Their contributions will help inform the College’s ongoing approach as it continues to explore purposeful and ethical applications of AI in education.
The visit provided valuable opportunities for collaboration, professional learning and strategic planning, supporting Trinity Anglican College’s commitment to delivering innovative and future-focused educational experiences for students.
