Founded in 1985, as the Anglican Schools Commission, and known today as AngliSchools, our core purpose has always been to establish and support low fee Anglican systemic schools which provide a high quality, inclusive, caring Christian education.
Here’s that journey over the past 40 years.

In the beginning
The Anglican Schools Commission Inc. was established in 1985, following the passage of a resolution by the Perth Diocesan Synod of the Anglican Church of Australia.
The aim was to provide access to affordable Christian education in the Anglican tradition to more families. It was recognised that existing Independent Anglican schools, while offering excellent education and fine facilities, were unable to be accessed by many families.
The new, co-educational, low-fee Anglican day schools were to be socio-economically comprehensive, overtly Christian in emphasis and inclusive.
Today
From January 2025 we embraced a new name, AngliSchools. This change was a natural evolution of 40 years of service and success.
From modest beginnings with the opening of St Mark’s Anglican Community School in 1986 in Perth’s northern beachside suburb of Hillarys, there are now more almost 18,000 students attending 12 of our schools in Western Australia, three of our schools in Victoria, and our New South Wales school.
With more than 2500 teaching and support staff, AngliSchools is one of the larger non-government schooling systems in Australia. We are justifiably proud of what we have achieved over the past 40 years.
