Step into Joy! Join the walk with Bishop Hans
The Right Reverend Hans Christiansen, Assistant Bishop of Perth, will undertake a four-day Pilgrimage Walk of Joy from 4–7 May 2026, covering around 90 kilometres.
This journey invites Anglican school communities to come together in celebration of the joy we share in Christ, strengthening our connections as schools, parishes and people. Through walking, prayer, conversation and hospitality, the pilgrimage aims to nurture resilience, faith and community spirit.
Along the route, schools will host services, assemblies, Eucharists and gatherings. Students are encouraged to join Bishop Hans for portions of the walk, symbolising our shared commitment to faith, service and community.
We warmly welcome members of our Anglican communities to join sections of the walk where appropriate, and to uphold the pilgrimage in prayer.
The Pilgrimage will conclude at St George’s Cathedral on Thursday 7 May, at which we will celebrate a combined Eucharist where everyone is invited, including parishes and members of school communities, and anyone who is interested in celebrating joy and the conclusion of the 2026 Pilgrimage Walk of Joy. The service will take place at 6.00pm. We would love to see you.
