Pathways for the Future

AngliSchools continues to strengthen career readiness across our schools through the development of tailored Career Development and VET resources that support students to explore future pathways and make informed decisions about subject selection, further study, and employment opportunities.

A new Year 8 resource, My Learning My Future: A Guide to Planning Ahead, has been developed to help students identify their interests, set meaningful goals, and understand the connection between their learning and future opportunities beyond the classroom.

This interactive resource forms part of the growing suite of AngliSchools Career Development resources, aligned with our Vision for Learning and designed to support students in building the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed for future success.

My Learning My Future will be made available to schools through our Heads of Teaching and Learning, and our Heads of Futures (VET and Careers).

Religious Studies Curriculum: School Curriculum and Standards Authority Endorsed Program

AngliSchools Religious Studies Endorsed Program for Year 11 and 12 has been re-endorsed by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority for delivery in our Western Australian schools from 2027. Contemporary teaching resources and assessments have been developed to support effective curriculum delivery and to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.

This program provides students with the opportunity to receive one Unit Equivalent towards the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE). Our Religious Studies Endorsed Program and resources will be made available to schools via the Religious Studies portal this term for delivery next year.

This curriculum renewal for Years 11 and 12 students is an important expression of Anglican Identity in practice. It supports students to explore questions of faith, ethics, purpose, community and service in ways that are intellectually rigorous, personally meaningful and connected to the world in which they live.

AISWA NAPLAN Connect Platform: Deeper Dive Professional Learning Day

As Western Australian schools transition from the AISWA Valuate NAPLAN platform to the AISWA NAPLAN Connect platform in Term 3, AngliSchools is providing a dedicated Professional Learning Day for our staff.

The AISWA NAPLAN Connect Deeper Dive Professional Learning Day will be held on Wednesday, 16 September 2026, from 9:00am to 3:30pm (AWST) at AngliSchools House.

Facilitated by Clare Slyth, AISWA School Improvement Consultant, this full-day, face-to-face workshop will provide school teams with dedicated time and expert support to explore and analyse their NAPLAN data in depth. Participants will deepen their understanding of effective data-informed practice, examine key trends and insights, and build confidence in interpreting and utilising a range of datasets to support teaching and learning improvement.

Invitations have been emailed to School Executives, Heads of Teaching and Learning, Heads of English, Heads of Mathematics, and Heads of Inclusive Education across AngliSchools.

Meet Our New Team Members

Toby Paul Wright | Career Development and Pathways Manager

Commencing: 21 August 2026

We are pleased to congratulate and welcome Toby Paul Wright as our new Career Development and Pathways Manager.

Initially overseeing our AngliSchools cluster of five schools within the CareerLink program, Toby will coordinate and manage the delivery and administration of high-quality Career Development, Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Workplace Learning programs. The schools involved in this program are: John Septimus Roe Anglican Community School, Peter Moyes Anglican Community School, St James’ Anglican School, St Mark’s Anglican Community School and Swan Valley Anglican Community School.

Toby will work with our schools, students, and stakeholders involved in the CareerLink program to strengthen career education, pathway planning, and post-school transition opportunities, helping students make informed decisions about their future.

Toby is a highly experienced educator and leader who currently works for Hale School as Head of Career Development. Before joining Hale School, Toby held several roles at Peter Moyes Anglican Community School, including Head of VET and Future Pathways, Careers and VET Coordinator, Relief Coordinator and Acting Deputy Associate Principal of Senior School.

Rebecca Piccolo | Learning and Innovation Coordinator

Commencing: 2 November 2026

Joining us later this year, Rebecca Piccolo will take on the role of Learning and Innovation Coordinator. In this position, Rebecca will support the advancement of contemporary teaching practices and innovative learning approaches to enhance student engagement and achievement across our schools.

Rebecca brings a wealth of experience to the role, including decades of exemplary teaching and educational leadership, and more than 20 years of dedicated service within AngliSchools. During her time at John Wollaston Anglican Community School, she has held a range of teaching, middle leadership, and executive leadership positions. Throughout these roles, she has demonstrated extensive expertise in curriculum innovation and learning design, and played a key role in the implementation of the New Metrics for Success project at John Wollaston in partnership with Melbourne Metrics.

A highly accomplished educator, Rebecca has earned state-level recognition for the outstanding WACE achievements of her Year 12 ATAR Biology students. She has also served as a WACE Biology Examination Marker for more than a decade.

Rebecca is a skilled classroom practitioner and educational leader who uses student achievement data to inform strategic decision-making and drive improved learning outcomes. More recently, she has worked as a Teaching and Learning Consultant for AngliSchools part-time, where she has supported strategic system-wide initiatives and provided mentoring and professional support to educators in our schools.

We are delighted to have Toby and Rebecca join the Teaching and Learning team in these new roles and look forward to the positive impact they will make across AngliSchools.
