Inclusive Education Masterclass 2026

Our recent Inclusive Education Masterclass brought together Heads of Inclusive Education, Heads of Teaching and Learning, school leaders and teachers for a highly collaborative professional learning opportunity to strengthen AngliSchools Inclusive Education practices.

Amanda Fernihough, General Manager of Inclusive Education from the Association of Independent Schools of Western Australia (AISWA), led this Masterclass on Friday 6 March for AngliSchools educators with a focus on the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) including a refresher, update and resources to support staff with the process.

During this Masterclass, Amanda, with the support of Bronte Paterson, AISWA’s Inclusive Education Consultant, delivered a practical and engaging workshop to support NCCD moderation practices which inform reporting and funding.

Save the Date
Due to the success of this Masterclass, please save the date for our next Heads of Inclusive Education Network meeting where Amanda Fernihough will lead a follow-up professional learning opportunity on Thursday 28 May. During this session, schools will explore the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework to provide escalated levels of intervention to help all students succeed.

PIPE Program: Growing Our Future Teachers

The Professional Immersion Program for Educators (PIPE) is an innovative partnership between AngliSchools, The University of Western Australia (UWA) and Edith Cowan University (ECU) and is designed to strengthen Initial Teacher Education (ITE) and develop the next generation of inspiring educators.

Now in its third year, the Program places high quality Pre-service teachers across both Primary and Secondary contexts into West Australian AngliSchools. These future teachers work one day per week as Education Assistants during Terms 2 and 3, gaining paid, practical experience supported by an experienced mentor teacher. Their work schedule is designed to complement university study while helping them build confidence, capability and meaningful professional connections.

PIPE creates a strong and sustainable ‘pipeline of classroom-ready teachers’, supporting workforce needs. With the support of our Principals and mentor teachers, this PIPE collaboration strengthens the bond between AngliSchools and tertiary education, ensuring our future educators are nurtured in an inclusive and connected learning environment.
