During the April school holidays, students from Peter Moyes Anglican Community School embarked on a two-week cultural and educational tour of Indonesia.
The tour provided an opportunity for students to reconnect with peers from Global Prestasi School and Margie School, long-standing partner schools that have developed strong ties with Peter Moyes Anglican Community School through student exchanges and cultural immersion programs.
Students spent two days at each school, participating in lessons, traditional Indonesian games, assembly performances and co-curricular activities alongside their Indonesian buddies. These experiences enabled students to strengthen international friendships while gaining a deeper understanding of Indonesian culture and school life.
Beyond the classroom, students enjoyed a range of cultural and educational experiences, including visits to significant historical and cultural sites, traditional arts workshops and opportunities to explore Indonesia’s natural environment. Highlights included visiting the Wayang Puppet Museum, creating batik wax paintings, experiencing local cuisine through a cooking class and witnessing the sunrise over Mount Bromo.
The tour provided valuable opportunities for personal growth, cultural understanding and global engagement. By stepping outside their comfort zones and embracing new experiences, students developed greater confidence, strengthened cross-cultural connections and gained a broader perspective of the world around them.
The Indonesia tour continues to be an important component of Peter Moyes Anglican Community School’s commitment to fostering global citizenship and meaningful international partnerships.
