Following more than a year of planning, content development, photography, and design, John Septimus Roe Anglican Community School (JSRACS) has launched a new website.
The redevelopment arose from a recognition that the previous website had evolved over time into a large collection of information that no longer fully reflected the experience the School wished to present to prospective and current families. The redevelopment provided an opportunity to rethink not just how the site looked, but how it guided families through the School’s story.
A central objective was to create a clearer pathway for families, helping them understand the JSRACS journey from Pre-Kindy to Year 12. Rather than presenting information in isolation, the new site has been structured to show how each stage of learning connects to the next, providing a more cohesive picture of the student experience.
The project also focused heavily on user experience. JSRACS wanted parents to be able to find information quickly and intuitively, whether exploring enrolment options, learning about specialist programs, or seeking everyday information as current families. Clear navigation, simpler page structures, and more purposeful calls to action were all designed with this in mind.
A significant part of the redevelopment involved reviewing and rewriting content to ensure it reflected JSRACS’s warmth, values, and sense of community. The School worked to create a consistent voice across the site, using language that is accessible, welcoming, and family-focused while also highlighting the breadth of opportunities available to students.
New photography was also commissioned to showcase learning experiences, student engagement and community life across the School, ensuring that the visual presentation supports the broader narrative of the JSRACS experience.
For the team at JSRACS, one of the biggest lessons from the project was recognising that a school website is much more than a source of information. It is often a family’s first impression of a school and an important tool for building trust, communicating a school’s distinctiveness, and supporting enrolment growth.
While the website is now live, the School views it as an evolving platform that will continue to grow alongside the school community and looks forward to refining and enhancing the experience over time.
