Course content

Primary students study the Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline. The curriculum places a strong emphasis on the development of seven General Capabilities, which include:

  • Literacy
  • Numeracy
  • Information and communication technology capability
  • Critical and creative thinking
  • Personal and social capability
  • Ethical understanding
  • Intercultural understanding

A highly structured curriculum exists for each of the following learning areas:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Humanities and Social Sciences
  • Technology
  • Health and Physical Education
  • The Arts
  • Languages

Within our schools, students are encouraged to ask challenging questions, develop research skills, critically reflect, learn how to learn, and carry out community service.

Uniform

Each school has its own distinctive uniform. Schools typically require students to purchase summer uniform, winter uniform as well as uniform that can be worn during Physical Education lessons.

Textbooks

Schools provide parents with a booklist that sets out the textbooks that are required by students on commencement of their study. Booklist orders are typically filled by an educational supplier and can be delivered to a specified address.
