Swan Valley Anglican Community School has celebrated the completion of its ‘The Collaboration and Creativity Centre’, a significant addition to the campus that is already enriching teaching, learning and student wellbeing.
Designed to support collaboration, creativity and connection, the contemporary facility reflects key attributes of the School’s Learner Profile and brings together a range of specialised learning and support spaces. These include a PK – 12 Resource Centre (Library), dedicated classrooms for Textiles, Visual Arts (with kiln), Media and Digital Technologies, a Languages classroom, a Year 12 Study Centre, Secondary Student Services and Wellbeing, and a range of leadership and meeting spaces.
Open daily from 7.00am to 5.00pm, the Resource Centre has quickly become a central hub for students and staff, supporting reading, independent study and collaborative learning across all year levels.
The dedicated Year 12 Study Centre has also been warmly received, providing senior students with a purpose-designed environment for focused study and academic preparation.
A notable feature of the development is the outdoor amphitheatre, which overlooks the School’s lake and surrounding landscape. The space is regularly used by students before school and during breaks and is increasingly being incorporated into teaching and learning activities for both small and large groups.
Complementing the new facility is a series of sculptural works created by a leading Perth artist. Positioned within the forecourt adjoining the amphitheatre, the artworks represent the School’s six cultural pillars: Commitment, Compassion, Excellence, Inclusion, Resilience and Respect.
Principal Melissa Powell said the Centre represents an important milestone in the School’s ongoing development.
‘The Collaboration and Creativity Centre marks a significant milestone for our school and provides outstanding opportunities for learning, wellbeing and community connection,’ Ms Powell said.
